“Do you think that your target audience is “anyone with an Internet connection and a credit card”? If so, this thread is for you!”
I didn’t write that intro, but I could have! This, sadly, does seem to be most people’s idea of the market they are aiming for … and almost always miss!
You should also follow the link in the thread, (I’ll put another here so you don’t miss it) to Scottie Claiborne’s article on Personality Targeting. It was interesting reading, because I came to the conclusion also that we all mostly aim at the people motivated by Money / Price. This, as you will see, is not necessarily going to be correct.
I’ve been a Cutting Edge type ever since my teens, wearing fashions before anyone else (with more sense) dared to do so. As I get older, I see myself in the Community group more often. I think that’s probably a fairly “normal” development.
Just additional food for thought … We tend to attract “like minds” so it should, fairly obviously, be easier to communicate with people who have the same wants, needs and motivation as ourselves. If you are still wondering what business to be in, then it might be a good idea to see what type you think you are, then develop a business suited to your own type.
