“Remember when you talked a lot of B.S. in your neighborhood, you were the local fool, but now that you are online, you are the global idiot.” I love that quote from Donesia Muhammad’s article, The B.S. Email Marketer: Are You One Of Them?
In it, she talks about the business morals of publishers, “You know what I am talking about, the ones who sound worse than bad used car dealers. Every word out of their mouth sounds like
a scam …” She exposes the real reasons why they needed to send you that email today and, it certainly wasn’t out of the kindness of their little hearts.
This should be obvious, but there are a lot of people online who fall for it, time and again. Yet, trying to get them to purchase solid, sound, trustworthy products and services that can really help them though is harder than drawing blood from a stone.
The most important lesson in Donesia’s article is this, “Be Smart, just because you are struggling online doesn’t mean to get desperate and jump into everything that looks good.”
