If you didn’t before, you probably will now that Google Adsense have ‘em - in the 300×250 Medium Rectangle ad format, Large Rectangles and Squares. They say, “Not only did Wild [their beta tester] see a revenue gain from the click-to-play video campaign itself, but switching to the larger Medium Rectangle format resulted in an additional jump in clickthrough rate and a 42% increase in eCPM.”
This test was with a car related site, which makes a lot of sense to use video. I can also see this going well on travel sites and dating sites, provided there are advertisers providing ads in your niche.
