Often, I come across tips and resources that you may find useful, but which do not require much explanation or comment and, do not warrant a whole post to themselves. This week, I have found several such items, so, without further ado, here is a virtual smorgasbord of links:

Top 25 Internet Startups To Watch In 2007, is a very interesting list of what are predicted to be the next online successes (StumbleUpon is one of them). It’s also interesting from the point of view that it explains what these “new fangled” services actually do (it isn’t always obvious) and gives ideas on businesses or models to emulate.

Reinforcing the importance of social media in today’s decision-making, “According to the 2007 Trust Barometer published by PR firm Edelman, “a person like me” is the most trusted spokesperson in much of the developed world.”

Killer Pipes for Social News, ideas on using Yahoo! Pipes to streamline your social news RSS subscriptions.

Blogging Resources

Use Blogger? Then you may want to look at your META tags, or at least replace Blogger’s default tag with manually produced ones, as Search Engine Roundtable report that the default may not be letting search spiders in.

Need free templates for your blog? Find Blogger Templates (Classic) and some with versions for New Blogger here.

WordPress is not the only pretty girl at the dance. Another nice content management system is Drupal.

Bloggers Blog have more on the news readers that are dominating the market now. The top few are similar to Pheedo’s findings, but these stats put Google much farther ahead. One very interesting finding is that, “According to Feedburner MyYahoo is the leading RSS reader for clicks that send readers back to the publisher’s website.”

Site Building
