For eating difficult or messy foods, Slashfood recommend, “… try to get you dinner companion to order the same type of food that you did, so that in the event you get messy or eat awkwardly, you won’t be the only one.”
Of course, if you are eating alone, it matters not how much mess you get into or how little finesse you display.
If your dinner companion is the dog or cat, even they are unlikely to complain if your table manners are lacking.
Could this be another benefit of living alone? On the other hand, I wonder how many of us get into bad habits that we find difficult to break when we are out in public?
