Guinness Marmite?

Kitty the Marmite Monster
Such a British thing and, such an acquired taste. Personally, I come under those who love Marmite - pronounced by the lady in the supermarket in Buenavista del Norte as mar-meet-aye - and, I have to keep a supply in the ‘fridge, because this little lady has a thing for it too!

Oh, I know, she’s a Canarian cat and, though I did, deliberately, teach the dog to understand English commands, I didn’t set out to give the cats a proper British upbringing or develop quintessentially English tastes.

My mum is fond of telling me (over and over) that Marmite is made from the by-products of beer making, but she manages to make it sound like they make it from the scrapings off the brewery floor. :)

Maybe they do, for all I know and, if they do, it seems that the Guinness brewery had to clean the floors recently, making a limited run of about 300,000 jars of Marmite - just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! :)

Marmite Guinness? Guinness Marmite?
