Linkshare calls this an enhancement?

What is it with some big affiliate networks? Their sweeping actions often seem (to me) to benefit neither the affiliates on whose promotion they depend, nor the merchants (who pay them) in the long run.

Connie Berg reports that Linkshare have added generic start and end dates - yes all the same dates - to every link (including the expired ones). While that is worse than idiotic, even of they were not generic (fictional) dates, these are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Don’t they realize that affiliates have better things to do than watch links? Either set it up so merchants have to inform us (by email, but by RSS would be better) or make campaigns last indefinitely.

When one manages many sites, as most who rely on affiliate income do, I know that the only thing that having time sensitive links is going to mean to me is that I decide NOT to promote that merchant.

Linkshare calls this an enhancement?
