Google Blog says that, if you’re a business owner, you can now upload photos of your business to Google Maps using the free Local Business Center.
The obvious is photos of business premises, but if your home is your business, that may be meaningless. It might also be undesirable to expose your location on the map, but, if you have attractive products and a business address at a P.O. Box in the general area, this could work. If you are restaurant with stuff to drool over, even better!
