The first category, describing the low-tech client, doesn’t just apply to situations involving working one-to-one with them, as there is much in their behaviour (bless ‘em, for it is not their fault) that also applies to the “average consumer” type visitor to your site. You know, the sort that don’t know how to download things or open PDFs. Whilst you may not be in a position to charge for the additional time it takes you to serve these lovely people, you can prevent them from costing you support time, by ensuring that your online instructions already cover their needs.
