As Neil Shearing quite rightly points out, “Lots of people follow “gurus’” expensive advice … but the Adsense Help Center is free. There’s a ton of helpful information. And it doesn’t have to be filtered through your “guru-talk” filter.” Worth a thought, isn’t it?

It’s often said that it’s worth paying for information as the time saved - that you’d have spent searching for free information - means you can get on and do more productive (income generating) tasks. However, if part of that time is taken up again “translating” such “guru-talk”, the savings, in these cases, may be negligible.

Yes, there must be plenty of exceptions to prove this rule, but I think with Adsense, since you hardly have to search for this information and, because some of the “guru” advice has been shaky at best (potentially harmful at worst) and, because Google are such sticklers for the rules, it’s better to stick with the free advice that they provide.
