OK, so you’ve worked out by now that I’m basically a fussy little bugger - whining on about the uncivil emails people send me and the state of English grammar online - so, you can take that into consideration when I’m decidedly scathing about a free website about Web Design, with the slogan “The Importance of A Good Design”, that then, ironically, uses a virtually “Pre-Columbian” HTML table layout for it’s pages!
Bear in mind that you can’t hear me giggling either!
Nevertheless, I do also know that there are a lot of people who are not yet able to build their own sites and, I’ve seen worse these are not really as bad as I am making it sound. They could be used, with some serious tweaking and the site does include tutorials and videos that will help you get started on basic editing. You’ll pick up more as you go along.
Unless you can actually do web design, I don’t think you should put up a site about web design. The other starter site offered was Internet Marketing: a totally pointless “niche” to get into today, unless you’re happy with earnings of about $3.00 a month, but I am assuming / hoping that future sites will be for entirely different subjects.
Personally, I’d ditch the templates entirely, but you do get around a dozen pages of content. This would be a start, provided you edited it and added other content of your own. There are also relevant affiliate links (that want cloaking / adjusting), if you want to use them.
Don’t expect to take these - or any ready-built site - out of the box and start making money, but for “cannibalization”, the price is right.
