In Alpha at time of writing (that’s not even Beta yet), is a new social networking site called MyLifeBrand. In contrast to many that cater only to individuals and, where marketers have to tread quietly and carefully, MyLifeBrand actually suggest uses for “Gurus” - they define as anyone who sells their expert services - to use it as a “viral marketing machine” and for “Sponsors” - companies who sell products or services - to think of it as an interactive Yellow Pages.
Additionally, it was reported that MyLifeBrand acts as an interface to aggregate your other social site memberships and “supports Friendster, LinkedIn, Bebo, Facebook, H15, Orkut, MySpace, and TagWorld among others.” I did get my request for an invitation approved, so I joined to look around, but didn’t immediately find where this latter facility exists.
So I asked Doug Plank, a principal with MyLifeBrand, who wrote to me as soon as I joined. Oh, I believe it was a personal email. A nice touch. He advised:
“Try this–go to the “friends tab” at the top of your page …then when on that page click on “Import Your Social Network Freinds” you can then choose which social network you want to import.” At the moment it supports Bebo, Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace, with more networks coming soon.
Once you’ve imported your data, you can then use the MyLifeBrand interface to send messages to any of these contacts, all from one place. It’s early days - they’re still adding and tweaking various features - but you may already find these resources valuable. If you need an invite, just ask me.
