This guest post by Wendy Piersall at ProBlogger will make you both smile and despair when she says, “… when you create really good content, your blog readers don’t want to click ads.” That, of course, is the motivation that many “splog” creators have for justifying the total crapola they inflict - if it’s bad enough, people are all too willing to click an ad to go anywhere else!
Now that Adsense publishers are required to follow the page quality guidelines on content, yet, as Wendy says, “For blogs that are focused on creating compelling content, AdSense and other CPC (Cost Per Click) ads aren’t the way to go.” Interesting conundrum, isn’t it?
