The right now wants us all to plant trees?Well, I was wrong, it’s not free daffodils that some Spanish politicians want to give away to market themselves, it’s free trees.

All 500 million trees that, opposition leader, Mariano Rajoy, promises to plant in 4 years, if he should win the elections in Spain on March 9th. If he did (heaven help us), he (and his cousin) will be very busy blokes. Or he thinks that the entire population of Spain is going to get out their shovels, ‘coz this works out to be 342,466 trees planted per day.

Or 14,000 an hour, working 24 hours a day.

In truth, we know the Spanish won’t do these menial jobs (nor the English for that matter), so who would? The immigrants they don’t mean to recognize, perhaps and plans to have them employed as slave labour? Will he bring back conscription and create a “land army?”

Who knows? That’s not to mention the fact that the money for ‘em doesn’t exactly “grow on trees either!” :) It’ honestly defies all sensible logic.

All I can hope is Spanish voters are wondering the same things I am.
