Never mind being at work, or sleeping, I could actually be dead when you’re reading this post. I could even have already been dead when it’s posted, given that I too have access to magic tools that allow me to make posts for the future, in the past (or something like that.) In truth, I don’t think I’m dead, despite the word zombie feeling like it fits most mornings, pre-coffee.
Then I got to thinking. What the future probably holds (certainly for the internet) is lots of entirely automated processes talking to one another. Then humans won’t be needed at all and we can all get back to having lives, hobbies, seeing the great outdoors, pretending to be working, asleep, dead …
Then when the human race really has died out and all those blogs and comments carry on twittering to one another, who’s going to switch off the lights?
