Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero (obviously moonlighting as a humorist and political analyst), has said that the crisis in the opposition is “a hieroglyph that doesn’t have a solution” because, he continues, “there are those who want to continue with the same policies and to change the leader and others who want a different policy and continue with the same leader.”
And, pretty obviously, you don’t need to have the brain of Einstein to see that either option sounds amazingly close to that age old definition “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Same shit as the politics of any other “developed” (in everything except sense and maturity) nation, so just enjoy the entertainment. And, at least, while the PP are making complete idiots of themselves, it saves someone else a job.
If you want the longer version, accurately and amusingly written by Graeme at South of Watford, then read this week’s thrilling installment of the Spanish political soap opera, Fideos en la Boca (Noodles in the Mouth.)
