According to the TV weatherman last night, this part of Britain is “heading towards a heatwave,” which, he said (with a straight face), would last “almost a day“.
What does he mean, almost? British summer is reduced to less than a day now? It would surprise me not.
And, if it’s heading there, it’s doing it mighty slowly.
